Actress Kang Hye-jung has signed an exclusive contract with Korean agency C-Jes Entertainment, according a press release from the agency.
C-Jes announced on Monday that Kang Hye-jung has signed a management deal with their company, which is a home of top K-pop act JYJ, actors Seol Kyung-gu, Lee Jung-jae, Song Ji-hyo and Park Yu-hwan.
“Kang is a character actress, a treasure of the film scene,” an official with C-Jes was quoted as saying, “we’ll do our best support for Kang’s vigorous activities.”
Kang, 31, first appeared as a magazine model in 1997 and made big screen debut with 2011 SF drama pic “The Butterfly,” which brought her the Best Actress from the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival.
She came into the limelight with her female lead role in world-renowned crime thriller “Old Boy” in 2003. Her big screen hits include 2005 war drama “Welcome To Dongmakgol,” 2005 romantic comedy “Purpose of Love.”
Kang tied the knot with hip-hop artist Tablo of Epik High in October 2009 and gave birth to a baby girl in May 2010. The actress was formerly an artist of YG Entertainment, her husband’s label.
