Major K-pop agency SM Entertainment has opened a hologram-specialized space in Japan in collaboration with Universal Studios Japan.
“SMTOWN HOLOGRAM V-THEATER with UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN” opened at Japanese theme park UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN in Osaka on Friday, set to continue its run until February 16 next year.
At the opening ceremony of the hologram theater held on Thursday, local press, industry insiders and specially picked 100 fans celebrated the birth of the new cultural space, while SM’s representative artist TVXQ! made a surprising appearance.
“This will be the new chance to meet your favorite artists. I hope as many as people would come and experience it together,” the top K-pop duo said after watching hologram performances and exhibitions including life-sized figures of themselves
The hologram performances will include some of the most beloved ones of SM artists, such as TVXQ!’s “Keep Your Head Down,” Super Junior’s “Sorry Sorry,” Girl’s Generation’s “I Got A Boy,” SHINee’s “Lucifer” and EXO’s “Wolf” along with Universal Stuidos’ popular characters Elmo and Cookie Monster.
This Sunday, Girls’ Generation members will visit the new-type performance hall and experience the performances by themselves, SM added.
