Korean female stars Park Si-yeon, Lee Seung-yeon and Jang Mi In Ae have been sentenced to less than a year of imprisonment for drug use.
On Monday morning at 10 a.m., Seoul Central District Court demanded Jang Mi In Ae 10 months of imprisonment and additional charge, Park and Lee eight months of imprisonment and additional charge, respectively.
The prosecution said during the hearing that, “Lee was regularly injected propofol 300 to 500 times for six years, Park 400 to 500 times four years and Jang 400 times six years. Overlapping injection took place tens of times, asking for additional injecting to nurse’s aide and regular injecting despite of acknowledging danger of propofol make them seem to inject the drug out of medical purpose.”
About the difference sentence for Jang from Lee and Park, the prosecution explained that Jang continued her unconvincing excuses and never admitted her fault, while Lee and Park confessed their faults during prosecutor’s investigation.
The directors of hospitals charged along with the actresses have each been sentenced two years of imprisonment and additional charge and two years and two months of imprisonment and additional charge, respectively.
The three actresses were first accused of inveterate use of propofol this April, continuing to display an acute state of confrontation between the starlets and the prosecution over their dependence on the drug.
