Korea’s legendary musician Seo Tai-ji has admitted that he got married to actress Lee Eun-sung.
Seo Tai-ji announced that he and actress Lee Eun-sung’s wedding ceremony has been held with their family members and close friends in attendance, through his official website seotaiji.com on Wednesday evening.
But he has not mentioned any specific date of the wedding nor the place that the wedding ceremony took place. The two are currently living with their parents in Pyeongchang-dong in Seoul.
The artist showed his gratefulness to his fans for their blessing the couple and he assured his fans not to be agitated from the presumptions and rumors revolving around that the two are “against common sense” or “not true to each other.”
Seo also explained that because his lifestyle has changed, he was worried about not concentrating on his new album and keeping his fans waiting for a long time. But he found a way to cope with it and he promised that he will make a comeback with his ninth album soon.
The icon publicly announced three months ago that he would get married to actress Lee Eun-sung, 16 years younger than the artist, who is 41, but he did not reveal further details about it.
Lee, who debuted through a TV series in 2003, has appeared in several movies and dramas including teenage drama “Sharp” in 2005 and smash hit sports pic “Take Off” in 2009, her last feature in her filmography as of now.
The two first met while working on the music video for Seo’s song “Bermuda Triangle“ in 2008. Lee was the main star to the video and the couple was said to start dating in late 2009.
The news came as a shock since this will be Seo’s second marriage since his ex-wife and actress E Ji-ah. It rattled the country in 2008 that their relationship, which was ended in 2006, had been kept a secret for a whooping 15 years.
Seo Tai-ji debuted as a member of a metal band Sinawe but switched gears and formed Korea’s first hip-hop dance group Seotaiji & Boys, which introduced rap and hip-hop culture to Korea. He then began his solo career in 1998, two years after the group’s retirement.
