Korean rising rookie actor Kim Woo-bin will be the regular host of a TV music show for the first time in his career.
Kim Woo-bin has been chosen as the new host of Mnet’s live music show “M! CountDown” and will start hosting the show from this Thursday, Mnet said through a press release on Monday.
“He has been showing good moves in his acting career. He also has calm voice and ability to host a show smoothly,” an official with Mnet explained the reason for the casting in the statement.
The Mnet official added that Kim’s overwhelming overseas popularity from his dramas is another reason to give the position on the global music program to him.
The 24-year-old actor, who shot to stardom in KBS drama “School 2013” with actor Lee Jong-suk early this year, has shown his ability to host a live TV show as a special emcee for “M! CountDown” in April.
Kim finished today the filming of his first big screen project, which is the sequel to “Friend,” one of Korea’s most beloved films.
