Korean songstress Yuri of Girls’ Generation will make her big screen debut this year, according to the film’s distributor on Thursday.
Yuri, alongside singer-actor Seo In-guk and rookie actor Lee Jong-suk, are set to kick off filming of upcoming movie “No Breathing” this coming Sunday, 9ners Entertainment said in a press release.
Yuri will take on the female lead role of a would-be musician who will form a love triangle with her old playmates played by the film’s two male leads Seo and Lee.
Seo will take on the role of a swimming prodigy-turned-ordinary guy, and Lee, a swimmer of the national team.
The 23-year-old female idol star, who broke into the music scene in 2007, expanded her career into acting with her role in KBS sitcom “Unstoppable Wedding” the same year, and took her first leading role in SBS series “Fashion King” last year.
Written by screenwriter Yoo Yeong-ah of acclaimed drama films “As One” and “My Paparotti,” the upcoming youth sports film will open in theaters during the second half of 2013.
