Korean actor Kim Jae-won will make a comeback to the small screen in a new weekend drama.
Kim will be in MBC’s new drama “Scandal: A Very Astounding and Immoral Incident” [translated title] with Cho Youn-hee of KBS drama “My Husband got a Family” (2012), said MBC through a press release on Thursday.
The drama centers on a man who avenges his father when he finds out that his father abducted him from his biological father. The reason behind the abduction is because the man’s biological father murdered the abductor’s son.
Kim will play the role of a self-centered detective who is warm-hearted inside. This will be his project in just six months since MBC’s “May Queen” (2012).
Meanwhile, actress Cho Youn-hee of “My Husband of a Family” (2013) will play the role of an honest and innocent mother.
The upcoming show will be written by writer Bae Yoo-mi whose previous works include “Romance”(2002) where Kim played the lead role with actress Kim Ha-neul and earned his fame.
The drama will be helmed by producer Kim Jin-man who previously produced actor Hyun Bin’s “Island” (2004) and planned actress Kong Hyo-jin’s “Greatest Love” (2011).
“Scandal” will premiere in late June after the wrap up of current drama “One Hundred Year’s Legacy.”
