“I Need Romance 2012” star Lee Jin-wook is to team up with “My Husband Got a Family” starlet Cho Youn-hee in a new TV series which will begin in March.
Both Lee and Cho have taken the title roles in tvN’s upcoming Monday and Tuesday drama “Nine: nine time travels” [translated title], the channel said on January 8.
Slated to crank in on Thursday, the new fantasy melodrama will center around the TV anchor character Park Seon-woo [played by Lee] who accidentally gets nine magical incense sticks which can turn the time back to 20 years ago.
Opposite Park who has a strong sense of charisma and justice, Cho will depict Park’s junior worker Joo Min-young, an open-minded reporter who forms a romantic relationship with Park.
Helmed and written by producer and scriptwriters of tvN’s 2012 hit time-slip series “Queen In-Hyun’s Man,” the upcoming series will go on air in March as the follow-up of Park Shin-hye and Yoon Si-yoon’s “Flower Boy Next Door.”
Lee, 31, made his debut as a model for an advertisement in 2003 and expanded his career into acting by starring in several TV series including “Alone in Love,” “Smile Again,” “Air City” and “Glass Castle.”
After being discharged from his two-year mandatory military service in March 2011, Lee made successful comeback to the small screen in tvN’s romantic drama “I Need Romance 2012.”
Cho, 30, first appeared as a young heroin in singer Lee Soo-young’s music videos such as“I Believe” in 1999 and 2002’s “La La La” and starred in the TV series “Love Letter,” “Spotlight” and “Golden Fish.”
She spent the busiest year in 2012 in her ten year’s acting career by starring in two movies “Doomsday Book” and “The Traffickers” as well as the KBS mega-hit weekend series “My Husband Got a Family.”
