JTBC’s historical series “Queen Insu” will be extended by ten more episodes, the broadcaster announced on Wednesday.
JTBC said in a press release that the firm has decided to add ten more episodes to the original 50-part series due to favorable response from the viewers and high viewership ratings.
“We also wanted to tell the overall story about ‘Queen Insu’ from her birth to death in complete detail. We feel that the audience will be captured by the storyline,” an official with JTBC said in the statement.
The series, helmed by producer Lee Tae-gon, revolves around Queen Insu’s life, the mother of Seongjong who was the ninth king of the Joseon Dynasty.
The younger version of the role was played by T-ara’s Eunjung with the older Queen Sohye set to be played by actress Chae Si-ra.
The drama, which aired every weekend since December 2011, also stars veteran actress Kim Mi-sook and actors Kim Young-ho and Baek Sung-hyun.
